For sale is this rare and highly coveted 1970's Black Beauty Super Sensitive snare drum. SERIAL #1972573 which makes this around 1977-78. This shell has that "magic" seamless shell and is unlike modern production models that are currently made. This drum is in good working order and the strainer mechanosism is in great shapre and functions perfectly. The finish has some cosmetic issues with the clear coat from being stored in a case with "sticky" padding due to storagefor 20 years.THis was not done by me.This drum has been cleaned inside and out. Comes with a CS dot on the batter side to take out some ring. Is not super dry and has great sensitivity bit "opens up" with loosening. So this drum can easily do rudiments, rolls, hard rock, pop and heavy rock beats! The BB does it all very well, with tons of musical versatility. It is unlike all the other snare trying to imitate it's magic mojo. Why buy a "wanna Be" copy when you can have the original. The only flaw iof this drum is there are small spider cracks around the muffler screw as you can see from the photos. These cracks have not spread in the last three years I have owned this drum and does not affect the sound in any way. Hoops are cleaned so no pitting or rusting on them at all. Comes with original version of wires. The most important issue with these SS models in the strainer mechanism which is "tight" on this one and has no play in it. In Summary this 70's BB is "turn key", can do it all, and is ready to "rock". Feel free to ask questions.
