• The shock absorber assembly is composed of shock absorber, lower spring washer, dust cover, spring, shock absorber, upper spring washer, spring seat, bearing, top rubber, and nut.
• The total components of the shock absorber are four parts: front left, front right, rear left, and rear right. 
• The position of the lug (the horn connected to the brake disc) at the bottom of the shock absorber is different in each part, so when choosing a shock absorber assembly, be sure to find out which part of the shock absorber assembly is.

The role of shock absorber assembly

• A shock absorber is installed in the suspension (usually in the spring coil) to prevent the rebound phenomenon.
• The function of the spring is to buffer the impact of the ground, while the function of the shock absorber is to limit the excessive elastic force of the spring.

Working Principle :
     The shock absorber assembly is mainly used to suppress the shock and the impact from the road surface when the spring rebounds after absorbing the shock, and is used to counteract the torsional vibration of the crankshaft (that is, the phenomenon that the crankshaft is twisted by the impact of the ignition of the cylinder). In the suspension system, the elastic element is vibrated due to impact. In order to improve the ride comfort of the car, a shock absorber is installed in parallel with the elastic element in the suspension to attenuate the vibration. The shock absorber is generally used in the shock absorber. Its working principle When the frame (or body) and the axle are subjected to relative motion due to vibration, the piston in the shock absorber moves up and down, and the oil in the shock absorber cavity repeatedly flows from one cavity through different pores into another cavity Inside.
    The structure of the shock absorber is that the piston rod with the piston is inserted into the cylinder, and the cylinder is filled with oil. The piston has an orifice so that the oil in the two spaces separated by the piston can supplement each other. Damping is produced when viscous oil passes through the orifice. The smaller the orifice, the greater the damping force, and the greater the viscosity of the oil, the greater the damping force. If the size of the orifice remains the same, when the shock absorber works fast, too much damping will affect the shock absorption.
The shock absorber and the elastic element undertake the task of cushioning and damping shock. Excessive damping force will deteriorate the elasticity of the suspension and even damage the shock absorber connector. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the contradiction between the elastic element and the shock absorber.
(1)In the compression stroke (the axle and the frame are close to each other), the damping force of the shock absorber is small, so as to give full play to the elastic effect of the elastic element and alleviate the impact. At this time, the elastic element plays a major role.
(2) During the extension stroke of the suspension (the axle and the frame are far away from each other), the damping force of the shock absorber should be large, and the shock should be absorbed quickly.
(3) When the relative speed between the axle (or wheel) and the axle is too large, the shock absorber is required to automatically increase the fluid flow, so that the damping force is always kept within a certain limit to avoid excessive impact Load.

When should the car shock absorber assembly be replaced?
1. Bouncing test: Press the car at the front or back corner of the car and release it quickly. If the car bounces over, the shock absorber is damaged and should be replaced.
2. The number of kilometers tested: the shock absorber should be checked regularly for 20,000 kilometers, it is recommended to replace the shock absorber for 80,000 kilometers, and the shock absorber must be replaced for 100,000 kilometers.
3. Tire friction: A damaged shock absorber will cause abnormal grooves on the tire surface and uneven wear. The shock absorber should be replaced.
4. Leakage of shock absorber: If the shock absorber leaks oil, the shock absorber should be replaced in time.

Detailed steps for replacement
1. Drive the vehicle into the station and park it correctly. Extend the lift support seat into the bottom of the vehicle to ensure good contact between the 4 support seats and the support points of the vehicle body.
2. Raise the vehicle off the ground. When raising, pay attention to observe whether the lift is working smoothly. If there is any abnormality, stop the operation immediately and let the vehicle stay on the ground as much as possible. Then use a wind cannon to disassemble the tire, and place the disassembled tire on the ground steadily, with the outer side facing up, and place the tire screws on the tool cart.
3. Lift the vehicle to a certain height (50-1500px), use a wind cannon to remove the screws of the connection part between the shock absorber and the steering knuckle, remove the balance rod rod and the shock absorber, and loosen the steering wheel rod screws. Separate the steering gear from the steering knuckle, arrange the screws and place them on the tool cart.
4. Separate the shock absorber from the steering knuckle (if necessary, use a steering knuckle expander and a big crowbar).
5. Remove the screws of the connecting part of the body and the shock absorber (if necessary, disassemble the vehicle falling plate or body balance bar), and at the same time, pay attention to catch the shock absorber assembly that is about to fall from the bottom. (If replacing the assembly, skip to step 12 directly)
6. Place the dropped shock absorber assembly on the ground steadily, and mark the relative position of the plane bearing and the shock absorber with a marker.
7. Put the shock absorber into the shock absorber spring compressor correctly and lock the position. Then use a wind cannon to tighten the compressor, and pay attention to the position of the spring and the working condition of the compressor during the tightening process. If there is any abnormality, stop working immediately.
8. After the compressor is fully compressed, use a wind cannon or other tools to loosen the lock nut on the top of the shock absorber. And take out the shock absorber to completely separate it from the plane bearing.
9. Check whether the plane bearing can rotate quietly and smoothly. Check whether the shock absorber, spring washer, dust cover, etc. are damaged. If damaged, it is recommended that the customer replace it.
10. Install the spring pad on the new shock absorber correctly, install the shock pad and dust cover on the flat bearing, and then install the shock absorber and the flat bearing on both ends of the spring and correspond to the positions. Tighten the lock nut.
11. Align the positions marked at the beginning, make sure that the spring is in place, and then slowly release the compressor. When releasing, also pay attention to observe the working status of the tool. Until the spring is completely loosened. And reconfirm the relative position of the plane bearing and the shock absorber.
12. Then follow step 5-1 to reverse the installation, and confirm that all screws have been tightened to the standard torque.
