An extremely decorative vintage French chandelier with a wealth of empire/regency decorative detailing in beautifully aged heavy bronze.
It has a deep ceiling rose beautifully embossed with swirled plumes and decorative hooks and chain below join to the top of the light.
A plumed rose sits at the top of the chandeliers and the shapely centre has gorgeous detailing that includes delicate stippling, acanthus leaves and a typically French coquille motif.
The five arms extend from a wide ribbed band around the centre and these have detailed foliate scrolling along the length, the candle cups at the end of each arm match the rose at the top of the light with their lush embossed plumes sweeping around to give a prettily scalloped shape to the rim.
The deep base of this gorgeous chandelier has a striking design that complements the centre perfectly and a large detailed finial in the middle completes it.
As you can see from the pictures the bronze has a wonderful aged patina and the quality of the workmanship and attention to detail is superb, it is in excellent vintage condition.
This is a particularly lovely chandelier, and its bold and classic empire features would be a lovely addition to any home.
It uses 5 small screw in candle bulbs (not supplied) and is wired and fully functional, however as with all vintage lighting it should be checked and installed by a qualified person.
