For sale is this Original Ford 428 CJ engine block. In Dec 2023 the engine was professionally Magnafluxed and found to have NO cracks and the shop stated that this is a great block and set set for a rebuild, so it is now up for sale. The cylinders are standard bore with very little wear. I only had the block cleaned, magnaflued with the freeze plugged removed. I am leaving the prep for the rebuild up to the new owner.
The original cam was removed and goes with the sale. The original main caps were labeled, removed, cleaned then replaced after the block was done.
I have taken pictures of the blocks including the date code. as far as the date code goes I have a couple of different angles of that so you can let me know what your opinion the meaning of the date, (I can't fully tell, but that is what it is)
I do have a set of 1969 correct CJ heads pictured. these heads are NOT included in this sale but can be bought. Let me know if you want more pictures of these heads. They are ready to go.
I also have a Crankshaft for a Cobra jet. it is perfect and ready for install. it is not included in the sale, but if you need it, please ask for more details and pictures
The reason I have not included the Cranks and Heads is because some buyer just needs the blocks with original main cap. They crank and heads are perfect and correct for this block if you want to buy those.
This is a heavy and large item to ship, so that is why I have it listed for for local pick up. That way you can see the engine in-person as you pick it up. Even though I have done everything to have the engine professionally checked out by a machine shop so we know it ready for rebuild, the block is still being sold AS-IS. I have shipped an engine before, so I can do it if the buyer sets it up and assumes the risk.
