A8 Pico Cart is a universal, i.e. programmable, cartridge for ATARI on which we can place a set of our favorite games or programs.

The cartridge works with ATARI 65XE, 800XE/XL, 130XE, XEGS.

After connecting to a PC (via USB), it becomes a mass storage device seen in the PC as an additional disk on which game files (e.g. XEX, ROM) can be placed. So it behaves like a typical pendrive.

The module has 15 MB of flash memory, which allows for storing approximately 200-400 game ROMs there.

The cart is made according to Robin Edwards' design -> link to the project: https://github.com/robinhedwards/A8PicoCart

This auction sells a ready-made, assembled, running and tested device in a 3D printed casing.

If there is no information about the selected color, I will send a random color.

Unlike most A8 Pico Cart from other sellers, the printed circuit board is with gold plating and edge connector chamfering.

Gold-plated contacts, unlike standard ones, are:

  • much greater resistance to corrosion
  • much greater durability of the connector
  • the gold layer is perfectly even, smooth and uniform, so in this case it translates into better contact along the entire length of the connector
  • excellent conductivity, gold is an excellent electrical conductor, which guarantees perfect connections

In turn, the chamfering of the connector is very important so as not to damage the socket in the Atari computer when inserting the cardridge.

NOTE ! THE CARTRIDGE MUST BE DISCONNECTED FROM THE ATARI BEFORE CONNECTING TO A PC VIA USB! FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS RECOMMENDATION MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
