I.T.Y stands for Interlock Twist Yarn. It is a method of putting a twist in yarn used for knit fabrics resulting in a more natural elasticity and a soft feel inside & out. It's medium weight, easy to sew with, has a beautiful drape and excellent stretch recovery. It is a commonly used fashion knit fabric in ready to wear clothes. Quite popular for stylish tops, Maxi-dresses, skirts and flowy pants and especially suited to created wrap dresses. The possibilities are endless.

Be a chic traveller with any garment you make from this fabric as it is very low crease and won't wrinkle easily. This fabric is incredibly soft and versatile, it's 4 way stretch with about 50% stretch across the grain for added comfort and ease. (not as much length way stretch) 

Though thin, it has a bit of heft or weight in the hand and drapes softer than ponte. Thin enough to gather, tuck, or pleat but doesn’t fall flat when you wear it. Raw edges don’t curl when it’s cut, making it easy to sew.
