Description
Stylish subterranean skull
illustration with distinctive turquoise eyes. The theme of this design
is open to interpretation. Versatile, as amongst other things
it could relate to:
- Scene from a Horror Film,
as the ghostly turquoise light emanating from the eyes implies the skulls
are coming alive!
- Catacombs of Paris and
the French Revolution, as the execution by guillotine of
the King (Louis XVI), monarchy and aristocrats resulted
in a large number of dismembered heads, which in time became detached
skulls.
- Pirates (of the
Caribbean) with a multitude of skulls reminding me of the buccaneer movies
of yesteryear and the caves in The Goonies.
- The Dark Ages and Beowulf (the Angle/Saxon
legend) when Viking pillaging left a trail of skulls
in their wake, which are now archaeological remains.
- Bones from Cave Men
Whatever the case, the design
looks great on this motley tube snood/face mask. Great as a fashion
item and practical for many outdoor activities.
Designed primarily for use as a
face and neck mask (although there are many other ways it can be worn). Complies
with UK government restrictions relating to facemasks for public transport

FABRIC PROPERTIES
This Face Bandana/Neck Gaiter is
made of a thin, lightweight polyester microfiber fabric which:
- Is made from a soft,
durable, skin friendly material for comfort. Can
be washed and reused.
- Seamless so it slips
on and off easily without any restrictive or abrasive
seams. This means there are no pressure points, which reduces the
likelihood of headaches. Fortunately the weave on this microfiber does
not need to be hemmed and it should not unravel or fray.
- Can absorb sweat AND dry
quickly (it ‘wicks’ fast). Therefore transferring heat and humidity
away from your body. The ‘flash drying’ quick
dry fabric technology lets your bandana dry in minutes, instead of hours.
- Is breathable and
lightweight, therefore increasing comfort in use.
- Is elastic and
stretches more horizontally (than vertically) to fit the contours of
your neck and face.
- Keeps you protected (from
harmful UV light and sunburn) from the sun and keeps you warmer in cold
weather. Perfect as an extra layer for warmth and protection against
the wind chill factor when riding during Autumn/Fall, Winter, Spring and even
Summer.
- Guards against wind,
dust and insects (wind resistant, although not totally windproof,
dustproof and insect repellent).
ONE SIZE FITS ALL for adults
(not suitable for young children). Approximate size 9.5" X
18" (not stretched).
Can be used for ACTIVITIES, such
as:
Running, hunting, fishing,
hiking, motorcycle, biking, skiing, snowboarding and snowmobile riding,
mountain, walking, climbing, paintball, traveling, yoga, music festival,
construction, outdoor working and daily wearing and so on.
Perfect for bikers, hikers,
outdoor sports, party, festival etc.
WAYS TO WEAR
Multifunctional tubular design, with many ways to wear
it. Primarily to be used as:
- A neck and face mask (as
pictured), which can be a fashion item, or for the aforementioned activities,
OR for fancy dress!
Alternative uses include:
- Pulling it down, to be used
purely as a snood-style SCARF or neckerchief.
- The blurb suggests it could be
used as a gag around the mouth for role play.
- Pulled up and folded over on
itself to become a blindfold.
- Up higher to become a headband (to
reduce sweat going into eyes).
- Or a hair-band to
prevent hair going in the eyes.
Or as other types of headwear:
- A head scarf (to
channel plaited, dreadlocked or long hair towards the back of the neck).
- Wearing it as a beanie
or skull cap (put around forehead and twist and pull the other end
back down on itself NB. In some countries this type of headwear is known as a
'magic turban').
- Using like a Bandana.
- A balaclava (with
one big eye hole, as opposed to two smaller ones).
- A Dickensian style night cap,
as worn by Scrooge (in this case to keep the head warmer when camping, for
example).
When not being used in the ways
above it can be twisted into a figure of eight to carry it as a wrist
band AND can be adapted for use as an arm sling in case of emergency.

At the moment this is providing
an effective face covering for my husband. It is stretchy enough for him to get
over his head, then fit closely over his nose and mouth. It's an interesting
item, as the simple design can more easily be used in the multi-functional ways
specified on the wrapper.
