This listing is for a beautiful pottery piece from the Chien Lung era.  Approximately 23 years ago, this piece was verbally appraised for $250.00 by James Callahan of Massachusetts, a frequent Antiques Roadshow appraiser of Asian items.  The appraisal day was held at the horse show grounds in Lake Placid, NY and was a charity event.  See the photo of his writings from that appraisal.

The pottery piece is signed (see last photos) and is in very good condition with no chips or cracks.  It has a coiled snake, a frog and an insect (perhaps a dragonfly).  It measures approximately 5" long by 3" at its widest.  It has an opening on one end, perhaps for incense?

James Callahan's notes say the piece is from 1735 to 1796 and is folk art.  Kwangtung Wave, made during the Chien Lung era. He verbally said the piece is very collectible.

Your Chien Lung figurine will be very well packed.  I used sturdy boxes, bubble wrap and packing peanuts.  It will be mailed via USPS the best way to your location with tracking and insurance.

Please see all photos.  Thank you for looking at my listing.
