This curated Hummel Christmas collection includes 11 items, consisting of 4 plates, 3 original boxes, and 4 wood frame hangers. The plates feature multiple Christmas themes and angels, with glazed China and Hummel painted figures. The plates are made of bone china with a white or mellowed background and multiple colors, and are part of the limited edition Hummel Christmas collection. The plates are signed and artist designed, and were manufactured in West Germany in the 1970s, beginning with the first plate in 1971.  In this lot we offer the1972 plate with original box; the 1974 plate with original box; the 1976 plate with original box and the 1983 plate which does NOT come with it's original box.  Sadly, when the original owner of this collection passed on, her complete collection was divided so that we have only these 4 plates to offer.

Each plate is unique and has a paragraph on the back with details concerning the origin of the plate design.  For instance, the 1972 plate titled, "Engel mit Flute" (Angel with Flute) explains that Berta Hummel had given the original painting to her sister upon her entrance to the convent.

We have also added to the collection the 4 beautiful wooden frames that the plates were displayed in for many years.  They can be used to display these plates, and are easily removable for cleaning or to be used with other collectible plates.  Each frame is worth at least $10 adding a $40 value to our lot.  Please see photographs of the plates with and without the frames. The frames are square with a round opening to display the plate, and add to the festive charm of this vintage collection.

This lot of the 4 plates, 3 boxes and 4 frames make a great addition to any Christmas and collection enthusiast's inventory.
