"My Napa Garden"

This limited edition print was created from a tiny 4x6 inch original pastel painting. Although it is small, it has a lot going on with tangles of vines, many pots of roses and other plants and lots of light, shadow and color showing off my backyard garden at its height of seasonal beauty.

The beauty of the Napa Valley landscape has been the main focus of my artwork since moving to The Valley in the late 1970's. I endeavor to infuse my paintings with a sense of immediacy which I hope draws to the viewer into the image to feel the bright dryness of a summer afternoon, a rain-slicked local road or a valley vista on a foggy morning. My paintings recreate a specific moment in time in which light, atmosphere, earth and sky come together in the celebration of simple yet profound beauty.  

Along with numerous one-person and group shows, I’ve exhibited my paintings and drawings in galleries and museums across the country including the Members’ Galleries of the Philadelphia and Delaware Art Museums, the Oakland Museum and the Albright-Knox Museum in Buffalo, New York. My oil and pastel paintings and limited edition prints are also represented in many private and corporate collections worldwide.

The Gordon Gallery, my studio, is located in the Old Town section of the city of Napa.
