This is a vintage Infant's Cape from the mid 1950's. It is 100% wool and has a cream (ivory) color to the fabric, with pearl buttons, It displays a folded over collar and knotted fringes to the entire hem. While gently used, and with very slight fading, there are no holes nor major pull-aways to the threads--note that the label does have a loose attachment on the Right.

The label states "WP 6716", "100% Wool", "Exc Orn", "Japan". It was clearly an outdoors infant garment--functional and fashionable! From collar to fringe it measures 7 inches vertically in the front, 10 inches wide at the widest part of the hem (at the fringe knots), and the collar when closed allows for a 10-inch diameter, additional with stretch allowance of the fabric.

This is a charming infant's fashion accessory from mid-century could be used at a winter Baptism. The garment has classic lines and your baby will cuddle up to this cape's smooth warm fuzzy feel.
