Fits: 2001-2006 Chevy GMC 6.6l Duramax LB7 LLY LBZ or 8.1l Gas with ZF6 Manual Transmission.

Assembly Instructions:

  1. To assemble as a short throw install the pin in the top hole of the shifter stud and use the spacer when installing on the transmission. To assemble as a regular (stock) throw install the pin in the lower hole of the shifter stud and set the spacer aside.
  2. Install shifter stud onto aluminum swivel using the white washers to take up any slack. The pin is a light press fit and can be installed using a rubber mallet and vise. When installing the pin lay a rag down to prevent scratching the aluminum swivel. Also be sure to install the chamfered side of the pin into the swivel otherwise the pin may walk crooked into the hole. Usually this joint will require three white washers total, two on one side and one on the opposite side of the shifter stub.
  3. Install the rubber boot in the aluminum housing.
  4. Install the two black swivels. Again use the white washers to take up any slack. Usually this joint requires three washers total. Now the assembly can be slid into the aluminum housing.
  5. Install shift tower onto the transmission. If it is configured as a short throw you will need to use the spacer and provided bolts. If it is configured as a regular (stock) throw set the spacer aside and reuse the existing bolts. RTV should be used on the joints, we prefer Permatex® The Right Stuff®.
