This antique ship binnacle, crafted by Henry Hughes & Son, is a remarkable piece of maritime history. The binnacle is constructed with brass, glass, and teak and was originally produced in early 1900s in London, England. This binnacle is an exceptional example of antique original craftsmanship and features a working compass. It's a perfect addition to any maritime or antique collection.

Compass housed in binnacle with magnetic correctors, electric lighting from below, and solid teak base. Diaphragm for dimming.  Two round port holes open on the top element to reveal the compass.

Navigation and course correction. Standard for merchant service. Instrument would have been mounted on a ship for navigational purposes independent of the ship's movement.
