The Texas Cookbook: Culinary & Campfire Lore from the Lone Star State, written by Arthur and Bobbie Coleman, is a 256 page, 5 1/2 X 8 1/4 inch hardcover book published by A. A. Wyn, Inc., New York. The copyright date is 1949, and this is a first edition: the date on the title page is "1949" and no other dates or printings are noted.

The book is in very good condition in a very good minus unclipped ($3.50) dustjacket, with reddish-brown cloth boards and a beige spine.

Synopsis - The authors provide 250 recipes, including barbecue sauces, stew, crackling bread, tamales, onion steak, creamed sweetbreads, chicken pie, sweet potato pudding and more. The recipes are interspersed with "tall Texas tales and colorful lore."

Condition Details - The book has a square spine, a tight binding, and no marks, tears, turned down page corners, writing or significant toning. The cover has sharp corners with very light edgewear and waterstains at the lower foredge corners of the front and rear panels. The textblock edges are lightly toned. The dustjacket (in new, protective Brodart) has light edgewear, chipping at the top of the spine and toning to all the white areas of the jacket, particularly the spine. There is a very faint waterstain at the bottom of the rear panel near the spine. The jacket's interior has significant toning and a large waterstain. No unpleasant odors.
