From my mother-in-law's estate.  All the sterling was heavily tarnished.  Although I did my best to polish it; some areas may need a little additional attention. According to my online research, these sterling silver spoons bearing the four-leaf clover mark were made by the Howard Sterling Co. and patented in 1891.  Pattern also produced by Mount Vernon.  I was unable  to find more than a couple of items in this pattern online but have seen it referred to as First Empire or Lily of the Valley.  Each is 6" long and weighs 24 grams.

In the year 1878, Mr. Hiram Howard of Providence, R.I. started his small business under the name of H. Howard & Co., making a line of sterling silver and electroplated goods. In 1884 his son, Stephen C. Howard, became a partner in the business, and the firm name was changed to Howard & Son.  Howard & Son sold its electroplated goods branch to Parks Bros & Rogers in 1891 but kept the silver goods portion. In December of 1891, Howard & Son was renamed to Howard Sterling Co. The company was one of the foremost in adhering to the highest standards of quality in the manufacture of sterling silver items. The company closed around 1902.
