WATCH GRADE LEGEND :
PLEASE REMEMBER THIS
GRADING SCALE IS FOR PRE-OWNED WATCHES. SOMETIMES PRE-OWNED WATCHES HAVE VERY
LITTLE WEAR. SOME HAVE BEEN PRE-LOVED MORE THAN OTHERS. IF YOU'VE NEVER BOUGHT
A WATCH ONLINE OR ARE REDICENT TO ORDER SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE OF CONDITION
CONCERNS, PLEASE ORDER ONE OF OUR LESS EXPENSIVE WATCHES TO SEE IF YOU LIKE THE
EXPERIENCE.
We have 3 different grades to describe crystals:
Fine: The crystal is perfect or nearly
perfect. This grade may have a tiny scratch or chip that is barely noticeable
and of no consequence.
Ok: The crystal is not perfect or fine, but
it is still in great pre-owned condition. Any imperfections will probably only
be noticed by you, although it may be noticeable. This is not a new small
piece of glass. Its been out a few times. Maybe many!
Imperfect: The crystal may have light or heavy
wear, and in some cases should be replaced. It may surprise you to learn
that replacing the crystal on a watch is usually very easy and inexpensive!
Eventually, we will offer this service.
We have 5 different grades for the overall condition of the timepiece,
which includes the back, case, face, and crystal:
Shining Star: This grade of watch appears as new. It
may have a small insignificant flaw we don't catch. Please keep in mind it
still may be a pre-owned watch. In general, Shining Star watches are new or
appear as new.
Awesome: A watch in awesome condition may appear as new or have
very few defects. This is like a Shining Star watch but may have a scratch on
back or a small defect where the watch has to be examined in order to find the
small flaw. In general, no one but you would notice a flaw on an awesome
watch, so you can tell your friends you bought a new watch from us and
they wouldn't second guess you.;)
Great: A great watch is in great overall pre-owned condition watch.
Although it may be imperfect in some ways, like a back with 10 scratches on it,
its a watch you would wear to an informal party or furniture shopping. A great
watch may also be worn in a formal setting, however sometimes with some types
of watches this wouldn't be the case. A great watch is a great looking watch,
however its pre-owned and may not be able to pass for a watch that you just
got. A great watch will have some mileage.
Good: A good watch is a watch that works but its case and or
crystal may have condition issues that may not make it suitable for a formal
setting, or somewhere you are worried about someone judging your watch.
Imperfect: The watch works, but may have
significant wear. Maybe it has some distinct abnormal imperfection, such as a
crack or two in the crystal
In order to provide a
more accurate assessment of physical condition, we sometimes combine the above
grades in an ascending / descending context.
For example, in the
occasion we can't decide if a watch is in Awesome or Great shape, Awesome ->
Great means it's closer to Awesome than Great condition; conversely, Great
-> Awesome means it's closer to Great than Awesome condition.
