FASHIONED OF A CHALLIS WOOL AND IS SEWN BY HAND FULLY THROUGHOUT.
SLEEVES SET OFF THE SHOULDER WITH PIPED SEAMS WITH THE SLEEVES IN PUFF BISHOP FULLNESS AND BAND CUFFS AT THE BOTTOM.
PIPED NECKLINE IS EDGED IN COTTON RUFFLES THAT ARE MACHINE STITCHED ON THE EDGE, PROBABLY ADDED AT A LATER DATE.
POLISHED SHELL BUTTONS CLOSE THE REAR WITH HOOK AND EYES AT THE WAISTLINE. CARTRIDGE PLEATING AROUND THE WAIST WITH COTTON LINING THE TOP AND INNER BOTTOM HEM.
THE APPROXIMATE SIZE OF THIS DRESS IS FOR AN 8-10 YEAR OLD.
CONDITION: SOLD AS IT WAS ACQUIRED. THE INNER HEM SHOWS SOME RUST STAINING ON THE REAR WITH A DARK BROWN STAIN THREE INCHES ACROSS ON THE MIDDLE CENTER REAR BACK. SIMILAR STAIN SEEN ON THE REAR RIGHT SLEEVE WITH A SCATTERING OF STAINS AROUND. A FINGERTIP FRAY IS ON THE MIDDLE RIGHT SLEEVE.
THE FRONT CHEST HAS STAINING THAT IS LIGHT BROWN THROUGOUT THE HIGH FRONT. A LARGE STAINING IS SEEN AROUND THE POCKET OPENING ON THE FRONT WITH THE FABRIC HEAVILY FRAYED AT THAT POINT AND I PERSONALLY WOULD ALTER TO REMOVE THE DAMAGED FABRIC.
A BEAUTIFUL DRESS WORTHY OF RESTORATION IN A RARELY FOUND YOUTH SIZE.
