Le Gaulois is a French daily literary and political newspaper founded on July 5, 1868 by Henry de Pène and Edmond Tarbé des Sablons. Becoming the property of press boss Arthur Meyer, it was published until 1929 before being merged with Le Figaro, owned by billionaire François Coty .
In addition, Le Gaulois du Dimanche was published from June 1897.
