See Photos.  Comes from a clean nonsmoking home.  Figurines, which typically represent historic battles, are hand painted are in original box.  We have a number of these sets available and box identification (label is handwritten in ink, cursive, faded, and in German) are difficult for us to match with any particular set.  Ink writing indicates the set was created on the early side of the 1839-1938 production runs.  We believe later ones were typed.  Inside the top of the box has a stamp: Spielwarenhaus W. Ahrenholtz Altona  Rathausmarkt 29.  Some sets do not have a box.  See pics for measurements.  Seller Lot #23084-52.

The toy business founded in Nuremberg by Ernst Heinrichsen in 1839 produced lead figure designs until December 1938, when Ernst's son died. Over the century, the family-run business produced over 16,000 designs.  Heinrichsen is credited with popularizing the "Nuremberg scale" for flat lead figures, which was about ~28mm from ground to eye level, also known as the "3cm scale".  The company continued after WWII but no new molds were created until 1981.
