Living Finishes: Baldwin Archetypes’ Villa, Chateau and Craftsman
hardware uses the finest silicon and white bronze available for our solid
bronze casting process. This old world process produces a variety of
character lines, grains and textures reminiscent of the times that inspired
each collection. Skilled artisans craft and hand patina each piece to achieve
a rich bronze color that is then lightly coated with wax. The natural oxide
utilized to create the Patina finish product is meant to age with time and is
referred to as a living finish.

process, popularly known as precision casting, was used by the Egyptians
to cast their Pharaoh’s gold jewelry. Fine jewelers and sculptors still
