For the manufacture of a chessboard, natural amber, genuine leather, epoxy resin and glue were used. For chess pieces natural amber, genuine leather and glue. Glue was used to attach the skin to the amber, and epoxy was used to fill the surface of the board (for strength).

At the same time, a distinction is made between:

1. solid amber, consisting of one stone;

2. formed monolith of several stones;

3. pressed stone from amber flour.

FORMED amber is obtained from several small stones completely welded together without the use of chemical additives under the influence of high temperatures, BUT WITHOUT MELTING. It is used for the manufacture of jewelry, the closest to a natural stone in appearance, properties, quality characteristics.

Stages of creating a PRESSED stone:

1. Amber grits are ground into powder.

2. Flour is placed in a tank for pressing and heating, air intake is limited. Under the influence of the press, under high-temperature exposure, amber flour is transformed into a viscous substance.

3. If necessary, coloring pigments are added to the mass, then molding is performed.

4. Pressed amber can have different colors, it differs from natural amber by some turbidity, has a different structure.
