A superb Huntley & Palmers 'Bookstand' Vintage biscuit tin, dating from c1905. This tin is of museum rarity and is in nice shape
This delightful tin features lithographic images of well known antique books all stacked in a double decker bookstand. Books are superbly detailed replicas of the genuine books by authors which include Dickens, Kipling, Hugo, Bronte and Twain
The condition is excellent with very little wear considering it is 118 years old. It will display very well. This is a nice item that was made in small numbers originally, consequently after 100 years plus, they are becoming very rare
Measures around 16cm x 11.8cm x 11cm approx and the bookstand sits on four bun feet. A hinged lid can be found at the top of the tin.This opens and closes very well. On the inside of which is the Huntley & Palmers name. The shiny chrome effect has worn after a century of use.
