TIMEX × ABU GARCIA collaboration 36mm ORIGINAL CAMPER Watch Japan limited

Description

Condition: New

Founded in Sweden in 1921 as a company manufacturing pocket watches that required precise craftsmanship, Abu Garcia was originally known for selling these watches under the name HALDA. These pocket watches, favored by royalty, boasted superior technology that won awards at the Paris Exposition and the Chicago World's Fair.

Subsequently, the company began producing fishing gear, and due to its high quality, was honored as a purveyor to the Swedish Royal Court in 1951. The crest (coat of arms) awarded by the Royal Court can still be seen on many Abu Garcia products today.

Interestingly, both Timex and Abu Garcia share a common origin in the manufacture of pocket watches. In their first collaboration, they have chosen to reissue the "Original Camper," a watch with military specification approved by the American military, based on Timex's design. Unlike the usual resin case, this version features a stainless steel case with bead blast finishing in a sleek black reminiscent of Abu Garcia's reels.

The back cover, also finished in black, is engraved with the Royal Warrant crest awarded by the Swedish Royal Court, and the dial design is inspired by actual Swedish military watches. The minute markers use railway markers, and the numbers are coated with luminescent paint to ensure visibility, giving it a special vintage touch.

The package includes a lure case with both brands' logos, suitable for angling or storing fishing gear, accessories, and other small items.
