This is for a wonderful Antique WMF - abbreviation for - Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik (in English means Wurtemberg Metalware Factory) Wine Cooler / Champagne Bucket. WMF was a Top German Silver Plate maker.

he maker was extremely popular for their tableware and houseware items as they were considered one of the best makers of Art Nouveau styled items. This piece dates to early production of c. 1886 to 1903. per the markings on the base. 

This silverplated bucket / urn is also marked on the base with the fraction "I/O" which states the normal thickness of silver deposited onto the base metal of the item. The "O/X" refers to the artificial darkening of the silver surface to a grey color ("oxydiert" in German / "oxidized" meaning in English).

The antique wine chiller measures: 9.5 inches tall with a rim diameter of 8 inches.

There is some normal oxidation on the inside due to most likely having been used as an urn at some point to hold flowers. (I have paired it with a vintage liner.)

Remember vintage items have been used and will have small issues like surface scratches and age appropriate wear. I will show any major issues in my pictures as they are part of the description.

*If an item is damaged in shipping you agree to hold onto the item, box and packing materials until the claim is processed and I will need you to take any necessary pictures to file with the carrier.

* I take great care in packaging items correctly and shipping on time.
