Digitalis purpurea | Foxglove | 6 Plug Plants | Wildflower

Digitalis purpurea | Foxglove | 6 Plug Plants | Wildflower

Introducing the Digitalis purpurea, available as a set of 6 plug plants. These iconic woodland flowers are commonly found growing throughout the UK, adding a touch of charm to any garden. With their unique thimble-like shape and captivating pink or purple hues, each flower is freckled inside with maroon, attracting delightful bees to your outdoor space. One of the many advantages of foxgloves is their extended flowering period, which can last for several weeks from June to July. Rising vertically from the base of the flower-spike, they create stunning displays and add a touch of elegance to borders or beds. Letting them self-seed will result in the formation of large, natural swathes, enhancing the natural beauty of your garden. To thrive, these Digitalis purpurea Foxglove plants prefer partial shade and moist, humus-rich soil. Fast-growing on average, they bring lively growth that will leave you amazed. Fully hardy, these biennial plants will experience their first bloom in the second year, while continuing to produce new sideshoots and self-seed freely if provided with suitable conditions. For optimal growth, pot the plug plants into individual cells until they develop a decent basal rosette of foliage. Once hardened off, they can be planted out to reach their full potential..

Plant info. We supply 100s of different species annually, and we try and keep the listings up to date however the plant may be supplied not in growth (dormant plant) depending on the time of year, more common in the winter months. Most are not supplied in flower, as most of the listing photos are only an illustration of what the plant will grow into and may not represent the size of the plant you are buying currency. You can request an example of what the plants look like currently, but we are not able to select the exact plants that you will receive. Images are for illustrative purposes only. The actual product may vary in appearance and size due to seasonal availability.
Packaging, Dispatch times & Plant condition. Plants are always tricky to post, we use shrink wrap soon to be biodegradable around the pots and growing media to secure it in place. This is then wrapped in cardboard, placed into a box which is then packed with newspaper, and finally boxed ready for shipping. We use Royal Mail for small UK-bound parcels and for larger DPD. Cut off is 7 am daily. We try to put as much detail on the item in the listing, but as you will know plants change state as they grow, for example a herbaceous perennial will die back in winter and reshoot in the spring meaning they vary in height throughout the year, because of this we go by the plant's pot size when giving the identification of size and not plant height. If you want to know what stage of growth the plant is in and want an up-to-date photo please message us. Some items may be very tall e.g. 2L Hedychium, although we will try not to, we may cut the plant back prior to shipping if we do all plants will recover in no time at all. If you want to check to see if yours will be reduced before shipment please message us. We do not advise you to eat any of our ornamental plant range.
Plant Guarantee Every plant we send comes with a 30 day guarantee that starts from the sale date. If your plant dies within the first 30 days we will replace or refund the plant for you. If a replacement is selected it will not covered by a 30 day guarantee, only the first plant. For dormant plants (e.g. bulbs, potted rootstocks or no active growth) the guarantee is extended to 90 days from the sale date.
