BAD:
There is an Auto Trans Oil Leak in between the engine and the transmission. The rear Auto Plate needs replacing and it is about a 1k repair. At first start in the morning, trans oil will leak if it is in reverse first, then it stops as the car drives off and won’t do it again. If the car is started then moved off in drive, it doesn’t leak at all, but it will need to be repaired. This was diagnosed only a few months ago, so I decided to be up front and let the new owner deal with it. Aside from that there is no urgency to anything else. Any other repairs or maintenance that might need doing down the track, can be done at your leisure.
LPG:
The vehicle runs full time on LPG. It had a full LPG service and clean out including new Tank, Pressure Relief Valve and AFL Valve by Eastern Autogas around 18 months ago. New APA Gas Tank 10yr Warranty, New AFL Valve, Apexus Gas Change Over Switch & Gauge using New Wiring Loom & Fuses. 10yr Warranty. She could very easily be reverted back to petrol, but would require an overhaul of the carby, fuel pump; fuel lines and tank clean out.
Runs great on LPG and way cheaper than petrol.
INTERIOR:
Interior is good for age. Full Roof Lining front and back. Vinyl Roof Lining to front of cab and Ambo Pack Headline to the rear. Vinyl Floor Coverings are excellent. Original Ambo Flooring to rear includes storage area in excellent condition. Heavy Duty Rubber Floormat on top of that which has been customised to allow the Dickey Seat to be folded away. GTS Dash is fully functional and in good condition. Door Trims are excellent.
Front bucket seats are in excellent condition, but stitching is coming away on driver’s seat. The GTS clock is missing and has been replaced with an Instrument Vacuum Gauge at some stage. Dickey Seat is like new and folds as should. Original Spare Wheel Cover to rear and original Ambo silver paint to rear. Couple of the Ambo switches have gone from the dash; I guess when it was decommissioned. Crack in the gear selector. Easy fix. RHS Arm Rest is broken and needs replacing. Some repairable tears in the headlining. Centre Console Arm Rest needs recovering. Previous owner installed a Cassette Deck with speakers in the overhead compartment at the rear. No additional ambulance extras
ADDITIONAL:
Sale includes some spare parts, receipt history and service manual.
HISTORY:
The vehicle was built at the GMH Holden Elizabeth Plant in South Australia in 1979. It left GMH as a Panelvan with GTS Trimmings before going to Lez Brazier Motor Builders (Now called Brazier Mobility), to be given the Ambo Pack. (BO6).
Here it was customised by way of a third door (On the left in SA for safety reasons), revised ambulance flooring and storage compartments, rear lighting (which still works from the front) and an Ambulance Officers seat known as a Dickey Seat, which folds away when needed. Seatbelts were attached also.
It then went to St John Ambulance where it was used for around 5 yrs before becoming decommissioned.
