Beautiful late 19th century violin with an apocryphal Caspar Strnard label with signature inside of top plate "Leandro Bisiach Milano 1894"

This is not a Bisiach.

LOB 35.7 cm

Condition: There are only three tiny cracks on the whole of this instrument, and all have been repaired. That's it! Every part of the instrument is original. So condition wise it is excellent.

The violin is probably a mid-19th century Bohemian or southern German violin.

Mr. James Banicki (Violins Essex Vermont) did the touch up and repair and currently has the instrument on consignment. Feel free to look him up to discuss the violin.

The violin impresses with its obvious aesthetic appeal, not to mention its one-piece maple back. Beautiful red-brown lacquer finish. Interesting choice of wood for the top plate. It's wide grain spruce, which you do find in violins from the Milan school, although I do not think that this is an Italian violin.

The violin also has excellent sonic properties. Don't believe me?  Not a problem!
Try the violin for 30 days and experience its tonal colors for yourself. Good sound projection. Very responsive. Easy to play. And the price is low relative to what quality of instrument you're getting. Compare to other violins in music stores in this price range. Do your homework and hopefully you'll find this violin before someone else does.

30-day trial period for both domestic or international buyer. Why buy an unknown violin at auction? You have to get it repaired. You can't return it if you don't like it. They take a 20% commission on top of the hammer price. Who needs that? Thanks, but no thanks!

Full measurements available upon request.

This is a fine violin. Why pay 10 times more for an Italian violin when there is no guarantee that it will sound any better or play any easier? Try the violin for a month, and then you be the judge.

I don't make money on shipping. Shipping prices have doubled in 2023 from the past year. I will show you a receipt so that you see exactly what I have paid to ship your instrument.
