"Mistletoe is of course one of the more fun Legends of Christmas. But its origins and connection to holiday celebrations is unclear. Some trace it back to passions of mythology attributing special powers to an unusual plant, others to customs of 17th century England. My own suspicion is it was dreamed up by boys (and girls!) looking for any excuse for a Holiday kiss!
