To Kill A Mockingbird, written by Harper Lee, is a 323 page, 6 3/4 X 9 1/2 inch hardcover book published by HarperCollins Publishers (New York) for Barnes & Noble as part of the B&N Collectible Edition Classics series. The publication date is 2011, and this is a later printing: the number line starts with "4." This edition includes Harper Lee's 1993 foreword.

The book is in near fine condition, with bonded leather stamped/illustrated boards, a ribbed spine, illustrated endpapers and gilt textblock edges. No dustjacket, as issued. Please note: The leather cover does not scan true to color: the background color is olive green with black and light green accents.

Synopsis - First published in 1960, To Kill A Mockingbird is about the crisis of human behavior and conscience arising from the racism and prejudice that existed in a small Southern town during the Depression. Scout Finch, age 8, who lives with her brother, Jem, and their lawyer father, Atticus, in Maycomb, Alabama, tells the story of her father's defense of Tom Robinson, a young black man who is being tried for the rape of a white woman. Awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1961, this is a much-beloved tale of growing up, as well as an exploration of heroism confronted with bigotry.

Condition Details - The book is unread and has no wear or damage: it was removed from the manufacturer's shrinkwrap to facilitate the description. It has a square spine, a very tight binding, and the leather cover has no edgewear, rubwear or soil. The gilt textblock edges have no marks/scratches. The permanent satin ribbon placemarker is in place. No unpleasant odors.
