This is an old wall mount hat and coat rack / hanger.  The rack has minor surface rust and very minor pitting from age while the top wood fitting on the rack has splitting and a piece of the wood fitting is missing and looks like it has been for a long long time.  The two wood fittings are secure and tight and the rack has no bends or cracks in the metal.  I has never been painted or altered and is all origianl.
