J. HALLEY COX
AMERICAN, 1910-1974
Born in Des Moines, Iowa on May 20, 1910. By the 1920s, Cox had moved
to California and was educated at San Jose State College and University
of California, Berkeley (M.A., 1937). He then was a resident of Los
Angeles and Salinas where he taught art in the public schools. From
1946-48 he taught at the CCAC. In 1948 he joined the art faculty at
the University of Hawaii. He remained there until his death in Honolulu
on Dec. 8, 1974. Find more info online.
