This vintage Oriental blue and white Meiping plum floral lidded food pot, large rice bowl or ginger jar is a unique addition to any collection. A large bowl with the lid off, the branches and plum flowers appear to be hand painted. This pottery container also appears to be hand turned as there are no seam lines. From my research, the painted design is meiping plum and these lidded bowls were used for food storage. It is a very heavy piece, so shipping cost reflects the weight.

The jar stands at 9 inches tall with lid on and has an 8 1/2” diameter. Without lid, it looks like a big bowl and stands 5” High. I believe this is a Chinese piece, but is unmarked and definitely falls into the Asian or Oriental category.
