This book is the first issue of the visual magazine "Foil," published by Masakazu Takei, who served as the president of Kaijishobo and later founded Little More. The first issue is a collaboration between Yoshitomo Nara, one of Japan's leading contemporary painters, and Rinko Kawauchi, another internationally popular female photographer. Under the theme of "Against War," Takei took Nara and Kawauchi on a trip to Afghanistan, where both took snapshots. Nara then drew illustrations, while Kawauchi also photographed landscapes and still life in the same tone as today. Nowadays, it would not be easy for Nara and Kawauchi to collaborate with each other, and there will probably never be another opportunity for both of them to visit a place like Afghanistan and take snapshots. Such a collaboration is very rare nowadays, and this is Kawauchi's overseas work.
