Description
Antique Napoleon III era French crystal and gilt bronze mounted wax seal desk stamp. The cylindrical handle is of solid hand blown cut crystal, nice large size with good weight in hand. Encased in opulent gilt bronze mounts decorated with motif of a cherub standing on a pillar, holding a bow and arrow in his hands. The top and bottom trimmed with a reticulated border. The top of the handle features a medallion of a horse drawn chariot. Finished with a matrix bearing monogram of interlaced initials AD. In overall good antique condition with no chips or cracks to the crystal handle, there are some small scratches in the handle commensurate with age and use. Measures 3 3/8" length x 7/8" diameter, with a 13/16" diameter matrix.
