This collection came from the estate of a Miss Marie Bowser. We had trouble finding any information on her.

Truly a magnificent collection, the these photos capture a middle class/more well off African American family thru the 1920s and 1930s.

Perhaps some 40s I am not a photograph expert.

There are about 98 early photos and approx 10-12 50-70s photos. There are many more different old photos than pictured. About 1.5-2x as much

There is a handwritten letter inside the envelope.

There is a cabinet card of a girl standing on chair

A football player in partial uniform/entire(?)

Family with their Nash automobile

A girl standing outside her home with a puppy in arms wearing Victorian lace up shoes

A family outing to the beach

Many formal attire photos

A few negatives on thin plastic material

Overall a super cool look into what life was like back then

This unique photo collection captures the essence of African American culture and history in the 1920s and 30s. The black and white snapshots showcase various aspects of life from their football player family member, graduations, family gatherings to sports events and beach outings. The album features a diverse range of images including vintage football games, family portraits, and beach scenes.
