The Y-Fort line of trumpets have been really surprising, I have been thoroughly impressed with every one of their horns I've tried!

 

Y-Fort was founded by Yang Fan and began producing instruments in 2002. Yang has worked closely with brands such as Jupiter and Eastman in the past, so he knows what it takes to make a quality trumpet. These instruments are very impressive, they play phenomenally well at a truly incredible price point. This would be an amazing first horn, and would also be a great upgrade from a student horn.

This trumpet has plastic valve guides that create a smooth feel and produce very little sound through the valve stroke. It has Monel valves and a one piece valve casing. It also sports a first slide saddle and a 3rd slide ring with a 3rd slide stop screw. 

It also has a hidden reverse leadpipe, which is great because it gives you all the benefits of a reverse leadpipe while still allowing for the front brace to be put in a conventional place, helping the horn feel more stable. It comes with a white fiberglass Y-Fort single case.
