Here is very nice piece of black steatite like the one pictured. It appears greenish gray but amazingly polishes up almost black very beautiful. It is a bit softer than Minnesota pipe stone, a real pleasure to work with.
This stone measures about 3-1/8 inches long by 2-7/8" high, by 1-1/2 inches wide.
The pipe does not go with the sale. It's an example of how the stone will finish when polished.
There will be very little waste in this piece.
The stone was sprayed with water so you can get a better idea of how it will finish, the third picture is dry. When it is finished it will look like the black pipe bowls that are listed in our store. It really is beautiful stone.
