A full-page print taken from William Henry Pine's "The Costumes of Great Britain".
With the imprint at the bottom "Published by William Miller, Albemarle Street, Jan 1, 1805. No. 10." This imprint is under the mount, and cut close, but it is still readable.

Miller commissioned the book from Pyne, and it was first published in 1808 with 60 full-page engravings covering all walks of life from Knights to Labourers. A miniature edition of the book was published by Ackerman in 4 volumes in 1827.

The example offered here is from the earlier larger edition. It depicts an unusual scene of brick-making. The job employed men and women apparently - and a horse.

A interesting scene from an important record of life in early 19th century Britain. Scarce.
