Glass Fibre Tape
Potterypro Pyrotape PGT is manufactured from mechanically bulked ‘E’ type glass yarn and has
been developed as an ideal medium for thermal insulation and heat sealing applications.
The basic fibres are lightweight, resilient, incombustible and the glass tape itself is suitable
for operation in applications up to 550 – 600 deg.C. Pyrotape is resistant to oils, most
chemicals and solvents, will not rot, and is unaffected by bacterial growth.
Pyrotape is supplied with a double sided adhesive tape on one side of the tape.
This adhesive is purely a fixing aid, and is generally only used to hold the Pyrotape in
place during assembly on the particular appliance – boiler, heat exchanger, stove etc.
The adhesive tape does not exhibit the same thermal characteristics as the glass fibre
tape.
