The scene depicts the final moments of Lieutenant Grayburn VC, 2 Para, who fought at the Arnhem road bridge under Colonel John Frost.

When resistance at the bridge was crumbling and the survivors congregating in and around the HQ area further up the road, Lieutenant Grayburn tan to the only other man left on his feet in the area.

Grabbing Private Morgan by the shoulder, Grayburn shouted above the din of battle, 'It's Time to go Lad!'.

As they dashed from under the bridge, Grayburn was hit by fire from a Tiger tank and mortally wounded. Having reached a partially destroyed house, Morgan went back for Grayburn, but the officer knew he was dying and ordered Morgan, to leave him.

Grayburn was awarded the Victoria Cross for the bravery he displayed over the course of the battle.

A search of 'Steve Morgan Arnhem' on You Tube will bring up an excellent video of Privste Morgan at the bridge in later years, describing this scene.
