Spanish General Francesco Pizzaro promises the King of Spain that he can find a hidden cache of gold in Peru, and is allowed to search - but at his own expense. Undaunted, Pizzaro assembles a brave but greedy band made up of soldiers of fortune, and sets out to cross the mountains and deserts to reach Monchepechu. However, Pizzaro finds himself struggling with his conscience when confronted by the Inca God-King Atahualpa, and must decide between his mission, his men and his faith in the one true God.
