Das Flume 1938 Watchmakers Catalogue
Uhrenmacher-Handelskatalog

Published in Berlin.

This is a very scarce, possibly now unique, ephemeral brochure produced as a trade catalogue for the watch, clock and jewellery trade in pre-World war II Germany. This supplement focuses on gifts and jewellery.

I cannot locate any other copies for sale, or examples on-line. WorldCat only lists the 1958 catalogue and the hardback 50th Anniversary production, "Das Flume Bach 1887 - 1937" (a copy of which I am also currently listing !).

My copy of the catalogue has only survived because it was owned by a watchmaker based in Denmark rather than in Germany.

There is a contemporaneous cover sticker explaining that the prices are given in "Goldmark" but transactions can be carried out in national currency at the respective exchange rate.

The brochure has a card cover with a silk hanging thread. It is generally in a very good condition.
The spine has the original binding tape with rust stains caused by the three hidden staples. There is a small oil stain on the right hand edge of the front cover and a 20mm tear to the edge of page 15 - see the attached photographs.

Complete with all 48 pages, and cover. Each page, and the rear cover, are packed with illustrations.

Size:  310mm x 235mm x 4mm

The photographs are of the catalogue being sold.
