This is a pair of crystal-glass horse bookends, that would compliment the Hollywood Regency style—family verbal provenance dates them to the vintage of 1940s-1950s. They are set as stylized horses rearing on legs. These are hefty mini-sculptures with sturdy bases. Bookend use is the obvious choice, but they are strong enough for any objet d'art that needs support or positioning(!). The surfaces are smooth and unblemished. There are no cracks, starbursts, nor chips. However, the body of the solid glass has very small air bubbles notable (see pictures).

There are NO markings, logos, nor copyright symbols on these horses nor anywhere on their bases. We noted that two companies from the era (L.E.Smith and Fostoria) had similar designs and are found as such on ebay and the web. But we cannot confirm maker at this writing.

Each horse weighs ~~3 lbs., and is 8 inches tall, 9 inches deep--and the base is 3 inches x 5 1/4 inches. (6 plus pounds for shipping both.)

Enjoy these delightful sturdy equine book helpers; a fine addition to any library, den, or tableau.
