This 1868 Shield Nickel is a rare find for collectors of US coins. Its uncirculated condition makes it highly valuable, with a 75% composition of copper and 25% nickel in  a denomination of 5 cents. The Shield design features a patriotic eagle and shield on the obverse and a large number 5 surrounded by stars on the reverse. The coin was struck in Philadelphia in a business strike type and remains ungraded.
