A very rare and elegant version of the transforming orb pendant!

Dating to around 1900/10, it's made of solid 9 carat gold frame and orb with solid gilded silver interior. It has four separately hinged gold arms, each one hand engraved and with trefoil terminals, which open out individually to allow the hidden cross inside to be revealed. These arms are unusually long and all reach to the lowest portion - twice as long as what's normally seen.

Inside it's made up of six gilded silver pyramids - each face of each pyramid unusually finely engraved with enigmatic masonic symbols, like the skull, the moon, the set square etc.

It's an excellent mid-larger size at 18 mm diameter, weighs a hefty 11.5 grams, and looks just amazing on a chain. It's marked '9ct', 'Pat. App. For' and 'Reg.d' and is in just incredible ready to wear condition.
