The hand towels have been carefully dyed one by one using the sosogi-zome method that has been handed down since the Meiji period. You can enjoy the colors unique to Sosogi dyeing and the subtle texture of hand dyeing such as gradation.

Country of origin: Japan Wafuhana's hand-dyed tenugui are made from "Ise Katagami" paper, which is designated as a traditional craft.
Put the stencil on top of the fabric and apply resist paste evenly. The part with anti-dye paste is not colored because the dye does not penetrate.
Remove the mold, fold back the same length so that both ears of the fabric are aligned, and stack them on top. Place the pattern paper on the fabric again and apply resist paste. Repeat this process for about 24 tenugui.
Step 2 of the Japanese traditional technique "Chusen"Chusen
Place the folded cloth on the dyeing table. To prevent the dye from flowing out, a bank is made with anti-dye paste.
The dye is poured with raindrops called "dohin" and the dye is pulled downwards with a compressor. The fabric is dyed on both sides, so turn it over and repeat the same process.
Step 3 of the Japanese traditional technique "Chusen" Washing with water
The craftsman enters the water tank to wash off the resist dye paste and excess dye on the fabric.
Process 4 of the traditional Japanese technique "Chusen" Drying
A long piece of fabric is hung from the ceiling and dried naturally. When the fabric is dry, it is cut and finished.
