This beautiful poster measures 24" x 18" and was designed by the artist Elise McCauley Hammond, titled "May Morning Hunt." Created for the 1999 National Wolf Awareness Week, which spanned from October 17th to October 23rd. The front of the poster also has a beautiful quote from Stanley Young detailing the story of Wolves and their bearing with human welfare. The poster also makes note that it was created using recycled paper and soy ink. On the back of the poster is an informational guide on the different species of wolves that live in the United States of America, what kind of wolves they are, where their habitats are and the steps we as humans have taken to make sure that these beautiful creatures do no go extinct. From the Grey Wolf in Alaska to the Red Wolf in North Carolina, there is some information on all of them. Around the page are also paw prints that have additional details about the history of wolves, such as the "1965 Act for Destroying Beasts of Prey" or the belief from the Ojibwa, otherwise known as the Anishinaabe, that the Wolf was to be their spiritual brother sent by the great spirit and that both would be feared, respected and misunderstood by others. There is also a small exert about the artist, a timeline of a century of Wolves and Humans, spanning 1900 to 1999 on the bottom, as well as a list of sponsors on the right. There appear to be no damages or wear. This poster will be shipped in a tube. This poster belonged to my Mother. See photos for details.
