Perhaps a Mayan warrior gave this to his child to "toughen" him up? This little statue does have a lot of character despite being spooky. Please note that the tip of his tail is missing. Maybe that warriors child got tired of sleepless nights and took action? Can't blame him if he did. I still have nightmares about my clapping monkey:(
