This RARE HARD TO FIND 500 piece U.S. BICENTENNIAL SOCIETY series puzzle from 1976 features “WASHINGTON CROSSING THE DELAWARE” by Eastman Johnson from 1851. The Society Seal is in the top right corner. The puzzle is SEALED - NEW IN BOX and when assembled with all the original pieces it measures roughly 23.5 x 17.5 inches. Item# 1776-47-2. The Box measures 10 x 16 x 1.5 inches.
It comes from a smoke-free household. The interlocking pieces are made of sturdy cardboard and showcases a colorful depiction of the Superstar players. The puzzle was produced in the United States by E.E. Fairchild of Rochester, NY and is a must-have for history fans. E.E. Fairchild was known for producing high-quality puzzles back in the day and this one is no exception. The complete set of 3 puzzles is up for auction.
