This is an original press photo. Grand Isle Mayor Andy Valence raises his fist in a joyful salute as the first of the boulders were placed of the beach of Grand Isle Wednesday to build a rock Jetty. Valence hopes this will slow beach erosion of the small resort island in the Gulf of Mexico. Photo measures 10 x 8 inches. Photo is dated 10-18-1989.
